What We Recommend For Gas Heating

In Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend we have very limited heating requirements.  We actually have about 850 heating hours per year on average, which is enough to warrant a good heater, but the payback is not there to justify the expense of a 90% efficient gas furnace.  Most of our heating hours are between 45 to 65 degrees outside.  With very few hours per year below 32 degrees. 

It is very important to not oversize your gas heater.  This can lead to short cycling, inefficiency, and uneven heating of the home.  Most gas heaters in Corpus are oversized.  Just like in Air Conditioners, Bigger is NOT Better.  If you have any heating questions please e-mail them to me at david@ccac-ac.com  in as much detail as possible.
